Meika Louis-Pierre, Owner and Instructor
Meika Louis-Pierre is a NESTA (National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association) Certified Adventure Boot Camp Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer. She is also certified by the American Red Cross in first aid and CPR.
Meika has worked in the sports and fitness field at every level. Her experience includes serving as an assistant coach on the 2006 AAAA Georgia high school state champion girls’ basketball team, working in both the Sports Information and Athlete Development departments at Florida State University and working with the New Media Department of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in New York. Additionally, Meika holds a dual B.S. in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from Florida State University.
Curtis Adams, Instructor
Curtis D. Adams has an extensive background in physical fitness, self defense and law enforcement. Curtis is a Cooper Institute Law Enforcement Public Safety Fitness Specialist, and is certified by the American Heart Association in CPR, Environmental Emergency, First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator.
He has worked in law enforcement for 12 years, with the past 4 years as an instructor for the Atlanta Police Academy, where he has trained and retrained over 1700 officers to date. He also holds a purple belt in the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu, and competes on a national level.
Curtis also trains and consults with various organizations in physical fitness, executive protection, self defense and community safety programs. Curtis previously coached high school football and wrestling for 9 years in Chicago, Illinois, where his teams competed on state finalist and playoff levels each year.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Criminology emphasis from the University of Northern Illinois.
LaToya Smith, Instructor
LaToya Smith has been an instructor with the South Atlanta Boot Camp since March of 2008. She has been deeply involved and dedicated to the fitness arena for several years.
She danced (ballet, tap, african, etc.) for over twenty years. She also participated in and taught aerobics for fifteen years. She competed in 5ks, 10ks and 1/2 marathons. She also started a neighborhood fitness program.
LaToya is certified by the American Red Cross in first aid and CPR. She also holds a B.S. in Business Administration as well as an MBA from Florida A&M University.

John Spencer Ellis - BS, MBA, PhD Ed
NESTA Founder
Dr. Ellis has spent his entire adult life teaching others about optimal health, peak performance, motivation, and business development. He has been a fitness educator for over 13 years and in this time, he has trained over 2,000 clients and 30,000 fitness professionals.
He is founder, President, and CEO of NESTA, National Excercise & Sports Trainers Association, and Spencer Institute, a professional life coaching association that provides life coach business development, coach training, life strategies coaching certification and support for individuals who desire to help others achieve peak performance in life.
John has become one of the most diversely trained fitness professionals in the United States. He has extensively studied mind-body fitness and alternative health. He holds bachelors degrees in business and health science, an MBA with an emphasis in marketing as well as a doctorate in education. His medical training includes being a licensed radiological technologist, certified medical assistant, and training in McKenzie rehabilitation exercises. He has more than fifteen fitness certifications, is a 2nd degree black belt in kung-fu and has completed the Ironman triathlon. He also finished 5th in the U.S. National Biathlon (run/bike) Championships.
John is on the Advisory Board for the American Association of Personal Trainers and is a Fellow of the National Board of Fitness Examiners. The combination of John's formal education, practical experience and fun approach to exercise, have made his camps very exciting and popular.
Program Consultant
Christina Lucy
Christina brings a wealth of experiential and academic knowledge to our program at South Atlanta Adventure Boot Camp. Christina earned her Bachelor's degree in marketing. She has worked over six years in marketing and advertising and currently handles the program development and administration for NESTA and Spencer Escape. Christina is also an active certified adventure fitness instructor for the recently expanded OC Boot Camp.
Christina is certified through NESTA as a personal trainer, an Adventure Fitness Trainer, and as a PACE circuit training instructor. She has taught aerobics and group fitness classes for over 15 years and she is certified through RRCA as a Running Coach. Christina developed the "EZ8" Running program and certification course.
As liaison for our corporate clients, she administers the corporate challenge course programs and has undergone training in challenge course administration and safety. She is also a facilitator for the ropes course at Spencer Escape in Big Bear.
